Description
The PAE M7 is a multiband, software reprogrammable VHF/UHF radio designed for fixed, transportable and naval applications. Covering the 100 to 400 MHz range the radio has power outputs of 40, 50 and 100 W depending on the waveform and frequency band in operation. It incorporates embedded technology from Rockwell Collins to deliver Electronic Protection Measures (EPM) capability, including NATO's second generation anti-jam tactical UHF waveform SATURN. Additionally the PAE M7 supports the legacy Have-Quick I/II system. Outside of NATO, nation specific EPM capabilities are met using the Rockwell Collins TALON waveform. The PAE M7 is compatible with the Rockwell Collins Talon V/UHF airborne radio, providing fully interoperable ground-based and airborne solutions.Available in transceiver or separate transmitter and receiver configurations, the contractor says the PAE M7 is suitable for dual use operations. For civilian applications the PAE M7 can be delivered with the full set of ICAO waveforms for civil ATC operations. Included are analogue speech operation, 8.33 and 25 kHz spacing, and VHF Digital Links (VDL) Modes 2 and 3. Additionally, the PAE M7 meets international maritime requirements in the range 156 to 163 MHz for both ship and shore station configurations. For military applications the PAE M7 provides UHF AM voice at 25 kHz and 12.5 kHz and is compatible with a wide range of external encryption devices for secure speech operation. It also supports military data Links 4A, 11, and 22.Networking capability including Ethernet and T1/E1 facilitates the radio's integration into modern distributed network control systems. At the
