Description
The Tactical Nodal Interoperable Terminal (TANIT) was designed and developed as part of the ground element of the Syracuse II system (see separate entry) to meet the need for rapid deployment of reliable satellite earth stations by tactical forces. TANIT stations carry medium- and high-speed trunks from 9.6 to 2,048 kbit/s, depending on the individual user's requirements and satellite resource availability.TANIT is compatible with all X-band satellite families and interconnects civil or military switches or multiplexers. TANIT carries all types of trunk traffic: voice, data, fax, images, scanned photos, secure transmission and so on. It can mesh network nodes and provides remote monitoring and control capabilities. The system is designed for ease of transportation and installation and can be erected in 30 minutes by two people.
Specifications
TANIT can optionally be provided with a simultaneous multiple transponder capacity, remote monitoring and control, automatic tracking and a 24 V DC power supply.
