Description
AN/TPN-19 is a terminal air traffic control system that comprises an Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR - AN/TPN-24), a PAR, (AN/TPN-25) and an Operations Centre (OC). The radar systems are linked to the OC by microwave links (with a maximum range of 19 km) and the system as a whole is designed for both rapid worldwide deployment and fixed base installation. Packaging techniques make the system completely transportable by aircraft, helicopter or road vehicle. The TPN-24 ASR is a dual-channel, 2 × 500 kW, E-band (2 to 3 GHz), Moving Target Indicator (MTI) radar. System features include: a multiple (12) horn antenna feed that produces lobe-free coverage up to 12,000 m and 111 km on a 1 m2 target a low angle pattern which is electrically variable and programmable in range and azimuth to reduce clutter returns a digital coherent and non-coherent MTI system to eliminate weather returns a staggered pulse repetition frequency to eliminate blind speeds below 2,037 km/h.
